About Scherica
“God knew her before she was born; He sanctified her as a spokeswoman to the world”!
Born in Shreveport, Louisiana and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Scherica Lockhart now resides in the Metro Atlanta area. She is married to Thomas Lockhart, they have two wonderful children who are loved dearly by their parents. Scherica is the oldest of five children and she was raised in church. She comes from a very spiritual family, filled with talented musicians. She started singing at an early age and was ordained as a minister under the leadership of her parents Pastor Willie and the late Co-Pastor Shirley Gatson of Resurrection Family Ministries.
In the late 1990’s, she left home to embark on a career in the performing arts arena while simultaneously working in Corporate America and traveled the gospel theatrical circuit for ten years. During this time she developed her gifts of acting and singing. Scherica has been blessed to work with many known musicians, industry artists and personalities including: Shirley Murdock (God Sister), LaShun Pace, Ann Nesby, Dave Hollister, Jackie Clark Chisolm, Carl Payne, Charlie Wilson, Morris Day, Alexander O’Neal, Montell Jordan, K-Ci & Jojo, Michael and Regina Winans, Raven Simone. Scherica also toured with Dottie Peoples (Songbird of the South) for several years. Throughout her life she has consistently given praise through her voice.
Toward the end of 2017, God answered her prayers and closed a few doors in her life to pull her away from Corporate America “while opening others” that she did not know were possible. Scherica shed many tears because she didn’t understand what God was up to. He took her away from the land of familiar and spared Scherica from the hands of the enemy. While searching for purpose, direction as well as desiring “MORE” of God, he began to open doors. She was inspired to write and create music with her producer/brother (KG) Keddrick Gatson . The course of her life has shifted because of her desire for “MORE” of His presence and His Glory. Her first music single and video of this powerful song “MORE” was released in March 2018, as a testimony of what God has been doing in her life. This song is Amazing and Scherica Lockhart has opened up our hearts for more of God’s presence. In 2019, she received her first Independent Recording Artist Award (IRAA) for “Music Video of the Year” for her music single” MORE.”
Scherica released her second music single “Victorious” in the fall of 2021. “Victorious” is an adventurous mix of Christian Dance Music (CDM) with an electronic sound and up-tempo beat.
Scherica is now releasing her first musical EP “AMAZING GOD”. It will be available on July 8, 2022.
Her desire is to inspire people to worship God. Scherica believes this project is a continuation of reassuring the world of who Jesus is. Knowing the state of this worlds continuous battle and uncertainty, Scherica is very passionate about the message of this EP and she believes God has called her to bring a Pep Rally to the Nations. Her goal is to declare that he is AMAZING, VICTORIOUS, a HELPER , and so much more.
